Brimsham Green School and Chipping Sodbury School are proud to present an exhibition of work by their Fine Art A’ Level Students.

This is the fourth year that Yate Heritage Centre has offered the space to exhibit the work of our Linked Sixth Form and we are delighted to have this opportunity once again.

Exhibiting art work in public is an important skill and for many of these young artists this is a new experience.

Work is of a highly personal nature; however, it has been based on the following themes – ‘Contrast and Camouflage’ and ‘Reflections, Distortions and Changes’.

• Young Inventors and Artisans 2012
2.30pm, Chipping Sodbury Town Hall

Chipping Sodbury Town Hall plays host to the Rotary Club’s annual Young Inventor Competition.

Members of the public are welcome to come and see the creative work of students from Chipping Sodbury School and Yate International Academy. There is no charge for admission.

Cash prizes are awarded for the best work in the following categories: Young Inventor, Junior & Senior Product Design, Food Technology, Textile Technology and Photography.

The event provides an important opportunity for members of the public to recognise and celebrate young local talent and is not to be missed!

Cardmaking and Scrapbooking Club

We meet at The Beaufort Hunt, Chipping Sodbury on the last Thursday (7-9pm) and Sunday (12noon-3pm) of the month, refreshments available. Chipping Sodbury Festival

Photographers With Disabilities

PWD is a Yate-based group supporting those with disabilities who are interested in photography. We meet on Tuesday afternoons in Room 4 at Ridgewood Community Centre where we have an accessible studio. We run regular photoshoots, Photoshop tutorials and lessons on basic camera operations. Shire Way Art and Needlecraft Club

We meet at the Shire Way Community Centre on the 2nd Thursday of every month, and offer a chat and a cuppa to aid your chosen craft.

Sodbury and Yate Photographic Club

We promote, encourage, and maintain an active interest in the science, art, and practice of photography, by means of talks, discussions, and practice. We are a friendly club and membership is open to all interested in photography. Although now predominantly digital, we still encompass film and slide. We meet every Monday 7.45-9.45pm, at The Old Grammar School, Broad Street, Chipping Sodbury.

The Centre aims to reflect the rich diversity of the Yate area’s cultural, historical, social and industrial past. This is achieved through a range of thought provoking and varied exhibitions, and a range of evening and day events including a regular series of quizzes, historical lectures and other one-off events.
