"Yate in 25 Objects" (Tue-Thu and Sat)
Yate Heritage Centre
15th October-1st December (Tue-Thu and Sat), 10.30am-4.30pm
A unique exhibition featuring objects - some amazing and some ordinary - telling the story of the history of Yate from earliest times. Objects vary from a Roman House Drain found at Hall End part of the Hall End Roman settlement to Musket Balls found at Yate Court part of the the siege of Yate Manor House, to Newman's 1 millionth bomb shell and recent salvaged favourites including the Swan pub sign and the War Memorial Board recently hung at the former Cottage Hospital.
We invite people to come and have a look at the objects at the display and discuss what they think should go in the display. We hope this will spark some debate and interest in the Town's rich history.
The display was researched and objects selected by local youth and community groups in Yate. Funded by Yate Town Council.
