Anglo Polish Society
The aims of the Anglo Polish Society, which is a non-political and non-religious organisation, are to promote friendship and understanding between the British and Polish people and to spread among the British public accurate information relating to Poland.
We have been granted charitable status as our role in providing information, especially to immigrants to this country has become more apparent. We have also been praised by independent assessors for the educational aspect of our work.

Christian Aid, West office
Christian Aid is an official agency of the UK and Ireland churches and has its office for the West of England in Thornbury High Street.
We work where the need is greatest, regardless of religion, through local organisations in more than 50 of the world's poorest countries. At home and overseas, Christian Aid campaigns to change the structures that keep people poor, challenging inequality and injustice.
The West office in Thornbury supports the work of hundreds of churches and thousands of volunteers in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

The Shire Way Community Centre is the perfect venue for a fun-packed social evening or fundraising event, with a main hall, skittle hall, activity rooms and restaurant, all with disabled access.

Shopmobility offers scooter and wheelchair (powered and manual) hire to anyone with limited mobility, to give them the freedom to visit shops and leisure facilities in Yate.
Anyone is welcome: young and old, with temporary or permanent disabilities or injuries. You do not need to be registered disabled to use Shopmobility.

South Gloucestershire Senior Citizens' Forum
The Forum comprises well over 3,300 people over the age of 50 in South Glos, who want and do take an active interest in the way society treats its senior citizens. It is not party political, but takes an active interest in matters that concern senior citizens.
It is affiliated to the National Pensioners' Convention, and liaises with Help the Aged and Age Concern. Membership is free.

South Gloucestershire Voluntary Sector Forum
The Voluntary Sector Forum is one network that every voluntary, community or social enterprise group or organization in South Gloucestershire can join regardless of community, interest or location.
It will meet regularly to share information about key issues that concern us all and work together to develop a constructive response.
It will strengthen the links between voluntary sector representatives and the groups they represent, provide a focus for consultations with statutory bodies, facilitate the two-way flow of information between the voluntary sector and the statutory sector, and provide an opportunity for voluntary sector organisations to meet, discuss, share expertise and decide on how to progress on key issues.

The Candle and Signpost Information Point
The Candle and Signpost Information Point are run by Christ the Rock Christian fellowship. It's a place in the community, for the community and it's here just for you.
A range of activities during the week for all ages. Something for everyone including Bread Making, Coffee Drop In, Information Point, Toddlers, Over 50's Group.
Signpost Community Drop In and Information Point is open on a Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-1pm at the Candle. We offer access to information, support and encouragement. If we can't help you we will find someone who can.

Yate and District Rotary Club
We are a dual gender club of around 30 members, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
We meet every week at 8pm at Stanshawes Court, with business meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, and an informal dinner, with a guest speaker, on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays.
Our partners are very important to us, and on any 5th Thursday in the month we enjoy a social event with them.
Our main fundraising activity of each year is the annual South Cotswold Beer Festival, and we support local and international projects.

Yate is twinned with Bad Salzdetfurth in Germany, and there are at least three visits each year between the towns. The Association organises social events in and around Yate, some of which are fund-raising.

Yate Volunteer Centre
We help people find voluntary work or groups/organisations find volunteers! People who visit our website or call in are amazed by the different types of volunteering available – from home-working to gardening, joining a committee or helping at a hospital, and much more.
While Yate Library is refurbished we will be based in an office in Yate Shopping Centre and will probably have to work by appointment only, but please check our website, email or phone 01454 324102.

The Yate-Genieri Link is friendship Link between the communities of Yate in South Gloucestershire and the village of Genieri in The Republic of The Gambia.
Established in 1988 it is now a registered charity and is responsible for a number of self-sustaining projects.

There will be speakers from Great Western Ambulance Trust, The Frenchay Hospital Project group and from the new Yate Health Centre (the West Gate Center).
