Privacy and data collection
General
You do not need to provide any personal information to use the website.
We ask for personal information only when you enter competitions, send us messages, or sign up for our newsletter.
We'll respect your privacy - we won't sell your data to anyone else. You won't receive spam because you've told us your e-mail address.
Personal data
We collect personal data that you fill in on the website - such as your contact details on a feedback form or competition entry.
We'll only pass that data on to a third party, such as a company featured in one of our competitions, if you explicitly request this when you enter the competition, or if you are a prizewinner of the competition itself.
E-mails
If you send us e-mail or provide an e-mail address in a feedback form or competition entry, we'll only use your address to reply to you or contact you about your message, and to send you our occasional newsletter if you've opted in to that.
When you use the feedback form, you do not need to give your name or e-mail address, but we would like to know who the information came from, and we'd like to be able to reply. Submissions without contact details may be ignored.
Data Protection
We don't use data for any purpose other than the exempt core business purposes.
We will, of course, abide by the eight principles of good information handling in the Data Protection Act 1998.
Logging and statistical data
Our web server keeps logs of visitors, as is standard practice. These will show your IP (computer) address, how you arrived at the site, which pages you visited, and which browser you use. We may look at that information to improve the site, but there's no personally-identifiable information in there.
We may also collect additional technical information to help us improve the site, such as your screen resolution.
Cookies
We don't currently use cookies on the site, although we may in future. If we do, we'll make sure the site works if you choose to turn them off.
