About Shopmobility
Shopmobility is a non-profit-making charity (Registered charity no. 1107379), funded by South Gloucestershire Council, the National Lottery, donations, sponsorship and grants.
Shopmobility (South Gloucestershire) has over 400 members, and is affiliated to the National Federation of Shopmobility. Click here to visit www.shopmobilityuk.org.
The Management committee consists of six trustees and five members who meet monthly.
Shopmobility's services seek to improve independence, social inclusion and social contact for people, often cited as one of the most significant benefits. They also signpost people to agencies that may be able to help on other related matters.
The charity's present focus is to identify people with mobility problems most at risk of social isolation, who may require additional support to access the service. They do this by forging closer working relationships within the Council, particularly Social Services, Community Transport groups, paid carers and other organisations.
